Reading your posts about hospital freebies makes me realise that we are
luckier than I thought at our hospital. Here in Queensland (I'm not sure
about the rest of Australia) our mums receive 'bounty bags' both
antenatally and postnatally. Our hospital receives a payment from bounty
to be allowed to hand them out. We had some concerns about products and
advertising in the bags, especially as we are working towards bfhi
accreditation. We wrote a list of what we wanted removed and took it to
the hospital executive, they asked us to forward it to bounty for comment,
but gave us an undertaking that if bounty did not 'come to the party' that
the hospital would no longer take their bags. I passed the concerns on to
bounty, and they have told us that they are happy to take out all the
things we had concerns with. We couldn't believe it was so easy when we
were prepared for a big battle. Don't we all wish that things were always
resolved so easily. Margie Wendt RN RM IBCLC
