Hi All! I have an interesting case. An LLL Leader Applicant just had twins
two months ago. She named them Louisa, Logan, and Lucas (the LLL
babies--cute huh?). Well, Logan, the one who usually sleeps in the crook of
her left arm felt strange to mom, and she got up to take a closer look at
him, and basically found a blue baby! Luckily, baby was saved, and now has
been diagnosed with gastrointestinal reflux. They have also determined that
his calcium and potassium levels are low (aw gee-- no hypoglycemia
too!--please note the sarcasm here!). The ped has recommended rice cereal
with Breastmilk or ABM by bottle. Since I have seen other situations that
have been treated with Reglin, I was curious what is the preferred method of
treatment? Logan is doing real well at breast and mom is concerned that after
many bottles, she'll have to prepare bottles for one, and breastfeed two
others. I'd love to hear from MDs and real experienced LCs out there.
 Thanks! Debbie Albert, IBCLC
