Hi, all. I have huge gaps in my knowledge base since I am not allowed to
access the hospital.
Edema resulting from inductions: when does it appear?
Can I assume that cabbage compresses (cautiously monitored) will help?
Has anyone used silicon artificial nipple to relieve engorgement? My
local hospital recommends as follows: "Use a silicon nipple for a few
minutes until engorgement from nipple and areola declines". I was under
the impression that they were talking about areolar edema from too much
maternal fluid intake (routine IVs at this hospital), but it was under
the section where they are discussing "engorgement". As a treatment to
relieve engorgement, using an artificial nipple didn't sound sensible to
me, but I try to have an open mind, even if it does get confused
easily....or is it the hospital staff who are confused? I'm ready:
educate me.
My best to all from still-sunny Beer Sheva (looking forward to paying
fantastic prices for fruits and veggies in near future because of
drought...) Judy Knopf
