Mary,
I wonder why this has not been suggested yet, b/c, IMO it is the single most important thing for any

baby who has been vacuumed, suctioned or experienced a long second stage: the baby needs cranial-sacral

therapy, preferably with a chiropractor who treats babies with CST, but a CST w/ baby expertise is good, too.

Yes, several times. The baby is irratic. He is taking in between 1/2 oz t=
o 2 oz=20
per breast, usually one breast per feeding.=20

>> have you done a before and after weight? when they are at the peds is =
is=20
always the same scale?=20

Mom said yes, but I have weighed him both times, the same day as the Ped.=
=20
Once it was an ounce under Ped's weight, and once it was an OZ over, so m=
y=20
guess is they are not using the same scale. It is a very large office, lo=
ts of=20
docs ect.=20

>is it always with all clothes off?=20

Just a diaper. I leave the same diaper on for the pre and post feed weigh=
s.=20
(I've weighed the diaper alone, they barely weigh 1/2 oz when new.) Docto=
r=20
also weighs with diaper.=20

Mom is getting rather nervous with the post feed weighs. I wanted to do o=
ne=20
last night. The baby cries when he is naked, or even in just a diapers, a=
nd she=20
didn't want to upset him. So, she declined a post feed weigh. (Also, did =
not=20
want him weighed at all today, saying she needed to go get the Fenugreek.=
=20
*sigh*)=20

She wants to wait for the Doctor's visit, next Tuesday, and I am a little=
=20
worried about degrading supply in the ensuing week, if this baby doesn't =
get a=20
little more aggresive at the breast. (He clamps a lot, but gets comfortab=
le so=20
easily at the breast, so quickly, and then is nearly impossible to rattle=
, even if=20
he is wide awake.)=20

He was a really quiet baby at first, (took him 3 days to "wake up") and h=
e is=20
really alert now, and she is trying to "figure out" why he doesn't sleep =
as much=20
as some of the books say. Also, just a few days ago, she was thinking he =
was=20
sleeping "too much."=20

I have suggested some more hints, she wants to try some Fenugreek and say=
s=20
she will try to pump to increase supply (after the doc's visit, but I wil=
l try to=20
persuade her sooner.) From what I am seeing, this is really a "Waiting fo=
r the=20
LetDown" baby, and he gets so comfy nursing, he just hangs out, as soon a=
s=20
he takes the edge off his hunger. He is not, IMO, acting like he is vorac=
ious, or=20
frantic at all. He *wants* the breast, and lets her know, and she is gett=
ing=20
really good at picking up his signals, but is a very analytical, logical =
person,=20
spent most of her life in the Corporate World (she's 43) solving finite p=
roblems,=20
and this baby don't know about "logic" yet. :)=20

Thank you for your input.=20
