Simply thick was pulled from the market several months ago for preterm
infants due to the risk of NEC. We recently used it in our NICU again
for a full term infant with dysphagia, but it is off limits for
preemies. Unfortunately, formula and rice cereal is the only option I
know of for preterm infants requiring thickened feeds at this time.
