Barbara,
My hospital gives breastfeeding logs to my patients. I find them
helpfulfor the mothers. The log gives them comfort if they know their
babies are keeping up with the log. (As we know many mothers do not trust
their breasts to produce adequate milk for their babies). If mothers did
not get the log, they would write down all this information.
For the hospital LCs. What are your thoughts on the H....... Newborn Flow
Records? Under the breastfeeding section, we are to document the length of
feeds. IMO, I am pleased to know that the baby latched and suckled for 3,
5, 7, 9 minutes on the first or second days of life.
