Regarding the comment that "No one is concerned about kids who's growth
curve is at or above 110%" I was reminded of a coworker of mine who's first
baby was gassy and colicky for 6 months until she switched him to formula.
Then we had gone to a seminar and learned about overactive MER and she
realized this was what she probably had with him.  When she had her 2nd
baby he would nurse for 5 minutes one side and eat every 2-3 hours and he
was the fattest baby I have ever seen.  Her doctor shook his head at her
and told her he didn't know what to do, if he was a bottle feeder he would
probably tell the mom to decrease his formula intake, but since he was
breastfeeding and only for 5 minutes a feed what could he do.  So they just
watched and waited I think he is about 7 now and thin as a rail. BTW she
had problems with him when she had to introduce a bottle when she returned
to work, he would only take a nipple that was fast flowing and she even had
to poke extra holes in that or he would get frustrated at the "slow" flow.
I guess it's all what you get used to.  Barb
