I recall hearing many years ago that supposedly "fat" breastfed
babies had larger fat cells while "fat formula fed babies had more
fat cells.  The thought was that once you get fat cells they are
hard to get rid of.  Therefore, larger ones could be reduced more
easily than a larger number could be depleted.  Hence, a "fat"
breastfed baby was less at risk for later obesity than a "fat"
formula baby.
This was long ago and I don't know if it does or ever did have any
research to back it up.  Does anyone have more evidence-based info
on this question?
