I've advised wool breast pads with very good results (as Gonneke suggests), 
drying the nipple quickly after baby comes off and covering the breast/nipple 
with regular pad and/or just bringing the bra flap back up, the rice in sock 
method, or warmed washcloth over the breast for 15-20 min post nursing.  Dry 
heat is important for vasospasm since moist heat tends to eventually cool off and 
can trigger vasospasm and pain.   Wool pads seem the best and easiest but 
moms tend not to have them and use the other methods while ordering them.
