She is breastfeeding well--transferring about 3 oz., good rhythmic sucking and swallowing. It seems that she gets uncomfortable from not having a bowel movement and then she refuses the breast, the mother struggles to feed her, etc. etc. until baby finally takes it. A feeding could end up taking over an hour and a half! The doctor told mom to give baby karo syrup or brown sugar.
