Hi Melia,
Hope the child is doing better. I've been google searching for a while. BTW,
breastfeedingi is not contraindicated. Don't see any reason mother should
not increase child's nursing, if child desires.
This condition seems to spontaneously resolve or go into remission
frequently in children. Corticosteroids seem first line of treatment.
Splenectomy is a surgical option if needed. There was one site (I think an
ITP society) that mentioned briefly "alternative treatments" that have not
been proven but some find helpful. Not sure what any of that would be, it
did not specify.
Seems child should be under the care of a peds hematologist, which I'm sure
that is what is happening at the Children's Hospital.
