I see fronm the archives that there was some discussion about labeling . 
However, I am interested if any one is using the barcode system or still 
labeling with the baby's label. We are trying to change the way all breastmilk is 
labeled when stored or frozen.At present we use the baby's label and then add 
the time and the date. I know that Rush in Chicago has special labels that the 
mother fills out.  That will not fly here both by the cost and the ability to read 
the label with the mother hand writting. What is every one else dong?
How do you label the breastmilk and do you have any other info on the label: 
thawed, frozen and the date, time pumped.Any info would be greatly 
appreciated.
For those in the NICU when you thaw are you thawing for a shift, a day or the 
feeding . We are having some discussion about this. One of the directors says 
we should thaw for each feed. Another says since breastmilk is good for 24 
hours after being thawed to thaw for a 24hour period.The third is saying to 
thaw for each shift. I need some help from all of you especially the NICU 
people.
