<For laundry, I think Charlie's Soap or something even more elemental than Dreft would help for ALL the clothes and linens and towels, not just what baby is wearing.>

I just want to reiterate a favorite hint for all laundry, especially the towels and sheets as well as the child's clothes:

No matter what soap one uses, try an extra rinse with the addition of one half cup of distilled white vinegar. Do not use dryer sheets, if a dryer is used. The vinegar smell goes away in the dryer, or even if line-dried. I found that my family's skin reactions to laundry went away completely when I adopted this trick my own mother told me, and to this day, I still use it on all my own laundry. I recommend passing it on to new moms.
