Ahem,
 
There have been formula ads on TV in the US.  You just have to watch the soaps, the court shows and some select talk shows to find them.
 
And there are PLENTY of formula ads in printed media.
 
Of course  acertain unnamed company have had to retract their claims recently:).  Can we all say "comfort proteins?"
