When I used to have yeast infections, in the days before OTC
preparations, the best way I found to treat vaginal yeast was to take a
washcloth that had been wet with a fairly strong mixture of vinegar and
water and just used it to wash as much as the vaginal area as I could
reach. I started with vinegar & water douches but soon figured out that
the washcloth did as well. It was much less messy and took less time
than the suppositories that you got from the doctor. I rarely had to
repeat this, occasionally I did it twice.
