It has been a while since I have been on Lactnet, but I hope you can help me!

Permission to post:
Mom of 13 month old highly atopic infant. Allergic to dairy soy wheat( among other things) he has been doing well; mother on very restricted diet.
Recently had both a blood and skin allergy test. Came back with no antibodies for wheat. Skin test also negative. Allergist told mom that she could add wheat to her diet. When she did this her baby reacted badly. Hives on his lips and bloody stools.

She was advised by this allergist to pump and dump for 24 hours. She would like to know if there is any one with more accurate information. Is that long enough? Too long? Seems to me like it
might not be long enough.

Any information would be appreciated.

Jamelle Lyons, IBCLC
