Hi Jenni

I agree with your suggestion but how do we 'make that happen'? Part of my
domestic contribution to political advocacy will be the letter-writing campaign
ready to go as soon as I know who the new Minister for Health will be (post
election).

I am also considering joining a new political party in Australia called What
Women Want - I heard about it via a story in one of the Sunday papers re
Sheila Kitzingers visit.

The party had 400 people become members in the first week - I think there
are now about 700+, 50 of whom are men.

The policies seem to focus on the whole reproductive cycle - perhaps this
would be an appropriate platform?

Would love to hear more discussion on this but maybe it's not suitable for
Lactnet.

What do you think? The link to the party's website is:

Julieanne

I checked out the website - very interesting - there are already 2 IBCLCs
active in the executive.
