Hi again
I believe that we as an International professional body must be saying quite
clearly to all companies that produce products that have the potential to
impact successful and ongoing breastfeeding -"you need to abide by the
Code". We must stand together to make a difference and if we speak out
together the roar could be deafening! If we stand silent then we are
consenting to their practices and with the drive to ever increasing profits,
our individual voices will be seen as insignificant and ignored.
As IBCLCs we abide by a Code of Ethics, we must have E CERPs to continue to
practice. So how then is it that these international companies are getting
away with so many breaches and there is barely a ripple in way of comment?
Where are our leaders in all this. As I asked earlier today - Where is LLL?
where is ILCA? where is USLCA? to name just a few bodies that could and
should be speaking out. I recommend that we all find our political voice
and start taking a stand - together
