"Why would it be different than finger feeding?"

Because, gasp, I, for one, don't do finger feeding with a glove. Actually,
finger feeding is best done by the mother, since the main reason for doing
it is to get a reluctant baby to take the breast, and we can't do that if
the mother ain't there.
