We can talk about healthy donors and screening but my
fear comes from the same one I tell moms who are
borrowing pumps. We may know the donor is someone who
has a clean bill of health by todays standards but
remember in the 1970's (when I was a teenager) that HIV
was in the blood / milk supply and no one knew it yet
until people started dying. There could be a virus that
is circulating that has not be recognized yet as a public
health threat, so I think that pasturazation is at least
helping with some protection but dispite the risks of ABM
I would be leary of the unknown.
