Was this infant suctioned, particularly from the stomach, for excess mucous.
I have had several cases of infrequent stooling in the first few weeks
following excessive suctioning.  Don't know why, but I have observed this.
I'll bet the mucous is there for a reason and overzealous "cleaning" could
change the environment negatively.
