Nikki raises an issue that really concerns me.  
Try placing a newborn skin to skin and  just as the baby makes that
all-important eye contact with mom - a cell phone is  put between them!  The
mobile phone can indeed be a huge barrier in family relationships - starting
right at birth.  So sad!  :(  
Polite suggestions that maybe the phone should be switched off for a while
don’t work.
