Jay - could your client's early struggle with lowered milk supply and hair
loss have anything to do with an underactive thyroid? BF and Hum Lact, p
355 gives symptoms of hypothyroidism in the breastfeeding woman which
include "reduced milk supply .. thyroid swelling or goitre, intolerance to
the cold, dry skin, thinning hair, poor appetite, extreme fatigue and
depression. Mother to undergo medical diagnostic evaluation .. relief of
symptoms, as well as increase in m/supply can be dramatic." Hope this helps.
