LactNet is not OWNED by a pump company, nor is it a "site," it is an email
list. Geeze Louise. Will people please get a clue.

Also my name is not Kathleen, my name is Katherine. Yes, it's confusing
with all these people with variations of the name, which was popular in the
1950s -- but it was Kathleen Auerbach and Kathleen Bruce who founded
LactNet. My name is Katherine Dettwyler, and I'm a subscriber, not a
founder, not a list-mother, not an IBCLC, not affiliated with any of the
pump companies.

I have never posted anything untrue about White River Pumps. I posted about
their affiliation with the infant formula companies, which White River
itself touted in press releases (I quoted their own press releases).

I'm thrilled when any woman is able to breastfeed, using whatever
information or support or gadgets she needs to help her get started or
continue through problems. I certainly don't care what pump she uses. But
I will continue to tell people -- on LactNet and in my presentations at
conferences -- which pump companies are associated with infant formula
companies, and which pump companies use misleading advertising. And then I
will encourage people to think about *why* these pump companies might do
these things.

And I'm *not* referring here to Medela/Hollister/Ameda Egnell, just for the
record.

It may be splitting hairs to say that White River has only filed one
lawsuit. Perhaps the others were all filed by the individual who used to be
the head of the company, in her own name, rather than by the company as a
company. I wouldn't know, not having seen the filing papers personally.
