I hope the statement that the abuse began after the child was no
longer sleeping in the family bed doesn't lead to people blaming the
co-sleeping for the abuse!  I suspect the tendency was there before,
but he could not conveniently act on it while the child was in the
bed with him AND mom!  More likely that being in the bed with the
parnets delayed the onset of dad's overt behavior.
I would hope that the mom and her attorney concentrate first on the
abuse and not bring up the normalcy of breastfeeding and co-sleeping
UNLESS the father brings it up.  Certainly have the information and
evidence available, but I wonder if it would best be used in
response rather than initially.  This way the approach can be, "this
is perfectly normal, so why bring it up?"
