Attention US subscribers who are interested in the Maloney bill and can't be
at the press conference. Here is a list of suggested things you can do to be
supportive:
        1. Contact your federal legislators and ask them to co-sponsor the bill
PS: There is no bill number until it is introduced. I will pass this on to
all of you as soon as it is available
        2. If they aren't interested in co-sponsorship, ask them to at least vote
for it.
        3. The best way to get them interested in eith co-sponsoring or supporting
is to demonstrate to them that there is a need for this legislation.
        4. Find out why they aren't interested in doing eith of the above (this will
help us develop info that meant change their mind).
        5. Pass on all stories that you personally are invoved in or have direct
personal knowledge of to Rep. Maloney's office. This can be done by fax or
phone or email.
        6. Watch for media attention and be ready to respond to it. CNN and ABC
have already taped pieces to be aired.
        7. OR if you have good media contacts use them and encourage them to pick up
the story.
        8. Check out the new WABA websiter on working and women's rights, especially
the ILO survey. It might give you some info that would be helpful (you might
also want to share it with your legislator's office.

Thanks for asking how you can help from a distance. If we can generate enough
activity in our local areas, just 5-10 calls or letters can do that, maybe we
can get a hearing and help make this thing happen. PLEASE help, without your
help this will not happen. Getting the bill is just the first step. THANKS
for all your help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
