yes, ignored.  Except I think we need to find a nurse from late 50's - early 60's and see what they really did,  Babies were swaddled, some had left over gas that mom was given in labor.  Babies were brought to mom every 4 hours to hold,  Who knew what feeding cues were back then :-)  I don't remember  questioning  why I wasn't feeding yet, but I was 18 :-(
