One more note regarding wetnurse "neighbour". Although they are both
island residents, the wetnurse lives down a dirt road about a 40
minute drive from the village where the mother lives and the island
doctor's clinic is. They are not close friends, but are recent
casual acquaintances. Long-term wetnursing is not practical (or
desireable), but this generous woman is willing to continue donating
milk as long as she is able.

Should she be asked to undergo blood screening for communicable
diseases at this point, when she has already wetnursed the baby for a
number of days, initially without the knowledge of the health
professionals? I doubt the birth mother will consent to blood
testing for either herself or her baby.
