Has she tried peppermint and or parsley as well as sage? I've
heard of moms having trouble keeping their supply up who it turned
out were gobbling peppermints (Altoids) like candy. Supply improved
as soon as they quit the peppermint. As an aside, I remember the
herbs to reduce supply as "PMS" for Parsley, pepperMint and Sage.
I wonder if it would help if she took an antiinflammatory such as
Naprosen. I am not a pharmacologist, so there may well be reasons
it would not be advisable or work, but here's my experience: After I
had a knee replacement my orthopedist said I could expect to have a
lot of swelling in the knee area even for a year. I had been taking
the antiinflamatories for pain, so I just continued them (after
getting his OK) and the swelling was reduced significantly. Of
course, natural remedies first, but it soulds like you've exhausted
those.
