I read the Reuters press article but not the original one yet. It seems that
the study results show a CORRELATION not a cause and effect. This is to say
that as bf babies age and consume less breastmilk, their mortality rates
decrease. It makes sense that older babies have better immune systems, and
it could be all that early bf that helped them to achieve that. So I hope
the press and/or formula marketers don't take this and run with it. It does
not prove anything.
