Interesting re: blankets.  I saw the same thing in Uganda this fall. 
Multiple layers of blankets on newborns. Ambient temp was 70-80 degrees! A 
lot of "stuff" to move out of the way to get baby even close to breast! 
They must not know about kangaroo care there.  Pat in SNJ
