Linda Kutner related an experience to me -- she had a mom coming to rent a
pump for her 2 month old (?) - I think going back to work, or whatever. In
the course of conversation, she mentioned that her 22 month old, who had been
weaned at about 14 months or so, had been sick off and on ever since she was
weaned. Either in to see the doc, on antibiotics, ear infections, URI -- you
name it. Linda casually suggested that since she was pumping, she pump a bit
extra and give her older child a couple ounces of brmlk in the morning and a
couple of ounces in the afternoon. Mom called Linda back & reported that in
the 9 weeks she had been doing it, her older child had not had ONE single
episode of illness!!
