Friends, I’m posting this for a co-worker who is working with a mom who has
this condition and is eager for more information.

She’s had the condition for many years. On her, it makes golf-ball-sized
cysts pop up in random places on her body (leg, armpits, groin). They come
up fast and have to be drained. They don’t usually happen on her breasts
except during pregnancy and bfdg.

She wonders if this had anything to do with her milk supply troubles with
her last baby. She’s just given birth again and 1 ½ weeks prior to birth
she had a cyst on the underside of her breast which was drained.

Aside from the obvious potential cutting of nerves & ducts during draining,
does anyone know any more about impact on bfdg? A Google search indicates
that this is thought to be a form of acne of the sweat glands (especially
those along the milk line, hmmmm). If --- as Dia Michels suggests---breasts
developed from sweat glands, could there be more involved than just the
cysts at the surface that would impact bfdg or milk supply?

(Lonna, if she’s not already in contact with them, be sure to refer her to
HYPERLINK "http://www.hs-foundation.org/"http://www.hs-foundation.org/ for
general support with this condition.)
