Breastfed babies in modern society have fewer vitamin K producing
bacteria in their guts, and thus the baby may be not getting enough
vitamin K to protect him.

I must say, I do not understand the reluctance of people to get this
for their babies.  Suggest oral vitamin K for the baby.
