The number of babies born locally would be over 5000 each year, and I
think that some of the recent snips have been done on babies outside our
region.

I don't know if the surgeon has personal experience, but I do know that
he has read all the research/articles written so far.

As I have not seen the babies who have been snipped I cannot comment on
whether it was necessary for their feeding success. However I doubt that
he would do this procedure without a valid reason, he has always seemed
like one of the good guys to me!

However, I take Rachel's point that not all tongue-ties need snipping. I
always wait and see, if there is low weight gain, or painful feeds, or
repeated mastitis, then I recommend the snip. Yes, I do check everything
else first!

Regards,
