Kathy, there is a similar idea in a LLLI publication, Learning a Loving Way
of Life. I don't remember what the title is so I couldn't find the page
number. Perhaps someone else will remember it.

The development was different from yours, but it is about a mother who wants
to carry her baby in her uterus (the old fashioned way) and the OB is aghast
and gives all of the disadvantages of doing such a thing. The "reasons" to
not carry the baby sound quite familiar.
