Have checked ref books including the pictorial by K. Auerbach, and have
checked arhcives. I am awaiting the BF Atlas by Clay and Hoover to come in
the mail.

Have a new mom w/ one white bump on periphery of large left nipple at 10
o'clock position, and w/ one red bump on periphery of large rt nipple, 2
oclock position (facing the mom); these presented about 2 mos prior to
delivery. OB said to ask LC what this is. Does not hurt at all. They are
about the size of 1/2 a pencil eraser. When colsotrum is expressed, this
?cyst does not leak or hurt or change. Does not hurt or change when baby
nurses. Have suggested mom see breast doc esp. since she has hx of
lumpectomy x 2 several years previous in rt upper outer breast and lower
central part (benign); however I feel this is probably a blocked Montgomery
gland/ cyst? I suggest she do nothing now except observe for s/s infection
or change in appearance or feeling. Anyone have expereicne or refs for me to
explore this further. Email privately as well as list, if poss.
