How amusing that this e-mail on margarine vs butter came up just as I was
posting something using margarine for the sake of comparison with the
public's vulnerability to suggestions about how nutritious something
supposedly is. I hadn't heard about margarine purportedly having such a
specific effect on breast milk, but I would bet that, were my mother-in-law
still alive, she would know all about it by now!

Oh, the pudding in the baby bottles is a new one on me! That sounds even
worse than the watered down evaporated milk and corn syrup that I had. It
is really amazing that some of us survived on what we were fed as infants!
I suspect that the fact that most of our mothers were breastfed themselves,
and grew up before junk food was so prevalent, was at least one thing we had
in our favor, that helped keep us all from dying of malnutrition or
infections. I am sure alot of babies at that time did die but, of course,
formula feeding was never accepted as being the cause!
