Hi
I am working with a baby who was born with a cleft lip. His gum line and palate are intact. Breastfeeding has been going very well. But now they are going to put in the NAM (nasal alveolar molding) for the next two months as preparation for the repair surgery. She was told breastfeeding will not be possible once it is put in. I I don't have experience with the device so I don't know if she is being given correct information.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Ayelet Kaznelson, IBCLC in NYC
