While we all get attached to things that are familiar, I agree that there
are far better, more efficient and more comfortable pumps available now.
However, I couldn't resist sharing that back in the day when dinosaurs
roamed the earth and I was nursing my second baby, (born in 1977) the only
pump worth anything was the Lloyd B. The flanges were handblown and very
fragile. I was fortunate to be able to be home with my babies but I had a
very close friend who was the primary earner in their home and she used her
trusty, wrapped in foam for transport, Lloyd B for almost a year while she
worked full time and commuted. It was quite an amazing invention at the
time.

We are so fortunate to be around when the art of breastfeeding has
progressed to a time when we have OPTIONS of many different pumps, and other
devices to help us to better help our moms. SNS's, nipple shields that
work and do little or no harm, cup/finger feeding, and really good pumps
have often made the difference between sinking and swimming for many moms.

We sure have come a long way in this business......Thanks to all of us!
