A quick note to let you all know that my surgery has been postponed to
October 27th. The surgical plan is still up in the air. If it isn't infected
he will go a head with the bone grafts. If it is infected it comes out.
The best news was that because the femoral component was healed solid before
the infection, the doctor has decided to leave it alone. A big relief because
I was more worried about the femur shattering than anything else. The
acetabular piece should just fall out. More bone has been destroyed around it
in the last 6 weeks (although I don't know how, I haven't been doing ANYTHING
literally), so it is not even fixed in the pelvis anymore.
I will keep you all posted.
