B.C. (Before Children), while living in S. Cal. I worked for a biotech
company, as did many other friends.  One friend worked for AMGEN on "epo"
or epogen.  If you can't find info in the regular sources you might want to
try looking up this company on the Web and submitting a question there.

It's worth a try.
