  either form of masitis is possible...

   some medications work better than others. i think that often a common one
is used without culturing to see what is really necessary.. this is both time
consuming and expensive. once antibiotic treatment is started acurate
culturing is not possible therefore if the first drug does not work another
and maybe andother must be tried till they find the right match....
