Pat, you're so right. LLLI's decades-old standard is still valid: The normal,
healthy newborn will need nothing but breastfeeding for about the first half
year of life.
If human milk was really that insufficient of all those nutrients
'food-authorities' claim it is (like vit D and K and iron and ...) how do they
think humankind did survive and thrive to the extend of overpopulation? Teaching
moms healthy behaviour (nutritious foods, daily walks outside the house to get
some air and sunshine, etc) and healthy breastfeeding practices (early start,
good latch, frequent feeds and mother-baby togetherness) will do more good than
drops and pills and worry.
