After checking the BF Answer Book, searching the archives and
reading up on past inquiries about green milk, I still have a question
about what it means.
A friend of mine (30 y.o., physically fit, youngest child weaned 4
years ago) asked me (because I am a LLL Leader) about the drop
of pea-green milk that she has been able to express from one duct
of one breast when she does her monthly breast self-exam for the
past few months. She can also express a drop of white milk,
apparently (to her) from another duct in the same breast.
She is concerned that this is a sign of breast disease of some kind.
Her doctor kind of brushed off her concerns, but she really wants to
know what could be causing this. I asked her if she ate lots of dark-
green vegetables and she said "no". And besides, wouldn't a
dietary explanation apply only if there was green milk coming from
all ducts?
Awaiting your collective wisdom,
Rachael Hamlet
