Hello Wise ones
I received a referral to see a woman, who has had mastitis several times and I am wondering if exercise (Running) may be a risk factor.
I have asked a Nutrition and sport medicine therapist, and she feels that the immune system will be low due to the postpartum time so maybe being challenged further , also fluid distribution when the lactating women is running , poor fitting bra causing trauma and an entry point for bacteria to get into the breast.
Has anyone else have thoughts that you can share.
Many Thanks
June Nicholls
