Sometimes milk for our milk bank is sent in plastic bags, although we do
not recommend this, and I have found that it does have a tendency to
have more bacteria in it. I have not done a study on this, it is
anecdotal!

I also find that the bags have often been punctured, either in the
freezer, or in transit to the milk bank. The plastic is very fragile
when frozen. Perhaps the bacteria enter via this route. Anyway, it is
extremely difficult and messy to handle the milk in these bags when it
is defrosting, and wastage is high!
