Jessica,
Re: your message 7/12/00. What unknowledgeable advise for any
professional to give. But I guess that is what the old timers were
taught in med. school. Don't they have to keep up with the latest? My
MD (1964) had told me to "bind up" because my sister told me "there's no
benefits to BF after 6 mos." I've regretted it (stopping at 11 mos)
since I found out the facts. It was bad. Thought I'd burst!!! I'm
lucky I didn't have more trouble. Worse on my daughter. She started
bovine milk and our family has intollerance to it. She now has exzema.
Emotionally we both had a hard time. I wish I had it to do over
again.
That lesson taught me to remind my clients to ask if anyone gives them
BF information, ask the person "what are their credentials. And is this
the latest info.?"
