Dear Friends:
Liz Brooks' has generously shared some conference tidbits with us. She
made this comment about IUDs.
> IUDs come in copper (preferred) and progesterone-only models, but all types

IUDs are have been advised only if a mother is monogamous and has completed
her family, as the string hanging down is a ladder for germs and IUDs have
never totally recovered acceptance after the Dalkon Shield debacle.

I also remember from a long time ago, something about the risk of perforation
with an IUD if a mom is nursing. But maybe that is no longer current. Anybody
know?

Warmly,
