i would question doing the surgery now.  talk to dr. brian palmer dds, a fellow lactnetter, i believe.  about the pump issue.  is she eligible for wic?  does wic in your area offer loaner lactinas?  even if she is not eligible, they may be willing to loan one to her for a short period of time.  i know that i have under special circumstances.
